Disk harrow is used in both the pre-sowing treatment of heavy soil after plowing and in the conservative cultivation applying the idea of topsoil mulching. The machine’s primary advantage is that it cuts and mixes plant residue with the soil and is capable of working very long hours without jamming. Used after plowing, the harrow intensively cuts and crushes the topsoil and simultaneously compacts the lower soil layer, which accelerates its settlement.
In the recent years, disk harrows have become a crucial element of two-phase, ecological cultivation of stubble fields which eliminates the need to use herbicides.
